Chapter Two

      ''Look, who are you?'' Laura huffed, her temper starting to get the best of her. Casting a derisive glance the woman's way she continued. ''I wasn't aware Stefan had hired any new staff...''

      ''Neither was I,'' the woman replied coolly, ignoring Laura's shabbily veiled put-down. ''When did you start?'' she shot back smoothly.

      ''Look!'' Laura began crossing the room, her finger pointed at the woman. ''You are sorely beginning to try my patience. Now I am only going to say this once--'' Laura's words trailed off as she watched the other woman begin to laugh softly. ''What is so damned funny?!'' Laura snapped.

      ''You, my dear,'' the woman noted, still chuckling. ''In fact, I do believe you are in dire need of a crash course in etiquette,'' she deadpanned.

      Shaking her head, she silently wondered how was it that her beloved had been infatuated by the woman who stood before her for so long? Lightly tapping a slender finger against smooth, café au lait colored cheek, the woman continued to survey the blonde irritant. She dealt with women like her on a daily basis. Moreover, she knew this woman's kind like the back of her hand. It didn't take much to put a woman like her in her place.

      A faint smile tugging at the corners of her plum-painted lips, the woman decided she would thoroughly enjoy putting the screws to one Laura Spencer....
