Just Desserts

Conclusion

          Husband and wife.

Now there was a term Monica wasn’t exactly ready to contemplate.  Hell, if she really thought about it there wasn’t much she was really interested in addressing these days, except a desire to quench the restlessness that seemed to have stirred to life within her since assuming ownership of Sweet Nothings. She remembered that feeling; it was her constant companion back home in Cranstonville and now it seemed to have decided to pay her a visit once again...

Reaching into her apron pocket, she retrieved the pair of bikini panties and held them up for inspection.  Damn.  Just as she feared, ruined.  And they were one of her favorite pairs, red fabric with white piping; her Valentine’s Panties, she called them.  Balling up the torn fabric she pitched them, aiming for the trashcan in the nearby corner.  It was an easy three-pointer shot, one she had made numerous times from way behind her desk so she didn’t even bother to watch and instead turned to make her way out front to finish closing up shop.

          “You missed.”

Monica froze.  The store was closed and no one but her was supposed to be there.  Other than Steve no one else had access to the back entrance to the office.  No one except Tyrell.

That realization dawned at the exact moment the red panties landed at her feet.

Oh gravity, stay the hell away from me
And gravity has taken better men than me (now how can that be?)

          “So, Moni...”

Slow, deliberate footsteps carried Tyrell across the room.  He took a seat on the edge of her desk and began to slowly undo the cuffs of his shirt.  She could not quite explain it, but Monica was instantly reminded of the first time she laid eyes on Tyrell in the café; she remembered that man.  She had not seen him in a long time.

“Why don’t you go on and take a nice long shower...”  He jerked his head back towards the private bathroom.  “Then when you’re done?”  He patted the space next to him.  “You and I...we need to talk.”

Monica could only blink.  She was too shocked to have any other response.  Nodding, she bent down to retrieve the panties.

“Leave them,” he commanded softly.  “You won’t be needing them tonight...”

C'mon keep me where the light is...
